We get it—when something doesn’t work right out of the box, it’s frustrating. Most issues are simple, and we’re here to walk you through them fast. We test every unit before it ships. it’s likely something small. Let’s figure it out together.
Step One: Is the Fan Running
Before anything else, check the fan. It’s the best first clue to confirm your unit is getting proper power.
Where is it?
Lift the bowl. Look in the back-right corner. You’ll see a small square filter—inside that is your fan. It’s quiet, but you can:
-
Peek inside and look for spinning blades, or
-
Gently press the top center of the filter and listen for movement.
If the Fan Isn’t Running
That means we need to focus on your power source. Let’s go through how you’re powering your unit.
Powering with a 12V Battery
-
Is your battery fully charged?
Deep cycle or LiFePO₄ batteries work best. Car batteries don’t cut it for sustained use. -
Are your leads hooked up right?
Red to red (positive), black to black (negative). Double-check polarity. Some older OGOs shipped with a dashed black wire for positive—it should have a label.
Using the OGO™ Recommended Power Adapter
-
Do you see a blue or red light on the adapter box?
No light? Make sure the plug is firmly seated. If it still doesn’t light up, reach out—we may need to replace the adapter.
Using Your Own Adapter
Make sure it checks all these boxes:
-
12V DC output
-
At least 10 Amps (this is the most common miss)
-
Center-positive barrel plug
Anything lower and your fan or motor won’t run properly—even if the adapter powers other gear.
Wired Into Your 12V System
-
Check your fuse: It needs to be rated for at least 10 Amps.
-
Confirm wiring polarity (again: red to red, black to black).
-
If you’re unsure, test another circuit or power source.
Power Looks Good but Still No Fan
Let’s check the wiring inside:
-
Lift the bowl. Look at the power jack inside the unit.
-
Confirm both terminals are secure—especially in older models with soldered joints.
-
Check all wire connectors. We use orange tab snap connectors. Lift the tab fully to release, press down firmly to lock. Tug test: if it pulls out easily, it’s not seated right.

Fan Is Running but the Agitator Isn’t
That tells us you’re getting enough power to run low-current devices, but not the motor.
Here’s what to check:
-
Is your adapter truly 10 Amps? Low-amp adapters (1A, 2A) won’t run the motor.
-
Are your wiring connections secure? Re-check every snap connector with a light tug.
-
Still not spinning? Test the motor directly with a bypass (see our guide here).
If the motor doesn’t spin when powered directly—it’s the motor. We’ll get a replacement sent out.
