Your safety and compliance with local electrical codes should be the highest priority when dealing with power supply matters. Always seek professional advice when in doubt.

    • Standard 12V DC Power Cable: This unit includes a standard 12VDC power cable, offering flexibility in connecting to various power sources. You can wire it to different power inputs to suit your specific needs.

  • Optional 110V AC Power Adapter: Alternatively, you can purchase a dedicated power adapter that converts the 110V AC outlet (normal U.S. Outlet) to a 12VDC power supply. This option may be ideal for certain situations, depending on your lifestyle and requirements.

To determine the best power solution for your needs, we recommend following our comprehensive lifestyle guide, which will help you make an informed decision tailored to your circumstances.

How do I connect the OGO™ ORIGIN to a 12VDC power source?

This is a guide for direct wiring an OGO™ ORIGIN to a DC power source.

Step 1. What you will need.

  • Wire cutters
  • Cable clamps*
  • Pliers/Cable crimper*
  • Screwdriver (potentially)
  • Multimeter

*  These will depend on your battery terminals and connectors. Check your battery's manual to understand what is needed for your individual set-up.

Step 2. Prepare the power cable.

Your unit's power cable is found in a plastic bag along with the urine bottle cap and installation screws. This bag is packed in your solids bin at our facility. If your unit did not come with a pack-out bag, please email us at support@ogotoilet.com

  1. Determine the distance between your power source and your unit. Make sure you have enough distance for your unit to your power supply.

  2. Use wire cutters to strip back the black insulation on the power cable, allowing each wire inside to reach its intended destination without any obstructions.

  3. Depending on the type of terminal your battery has, follow one of the two methods below:

    a. If your battery has connectors:

    • Use wire strippers to expose the desired length of copper wire at the end of the power cable.
    • Slide the exposed wire into the clamp on the connector.
    • Use a crimping tool to firmly secure the wire to the connector. Make sure it is securely attached.

    b. If you are wiring directly to a fuse box, inverter, step-down unit, or similar:

    • Strip the power cable wires long enough so that you can securely wrap them around the connector screw or into the connecting slot.
    • Wrap the exposed copper wire tightly around the connector screw or insert it into the connecting slot.
    • Use a screwdriver or any necessary tools to ensure a secure connection.

If you need to extend past the length of the provided power cable, you can purchase additional wires and simply connect them to your cable.

Step 3. Connect the cable to the unit.

  1. Ensure secure and correct connections:

    • Red wire connects to POSITIVE (+).
    • Black wire connects to NEGATIVE (-).
  2. Plug your unit in:

    • Locate the power jack on the vent housing which is installed from the factory on the back right of the toilet.

  3. READY TO USE!
