How to Install the Acoustic Sensor

The acoustic sensor is an optional sensor that can be a good back-up option to prevent urine overflow. It's a simple contact sensor with three prong leads and a battery.

When conductive liquid such as urine hits makes contact with 2 of the 3 prongs, the sensor will start to make a beeping noise.

The bottle will need to be emptied or the sensor will need to be removed to stop the beeping.

We have noticed that the surface tension of urine can stay on the edges of the urine bottle and cause the sensor to continue beeping even after the bottle is removed. We recommend waiting for the bottle to dry a bit before putting the sensor back in.

Installation:

  1. Use the sensor to mark three hole locations on the back side of the bottle.

  2. Poke three small holes through the bottle to allow the prongs to insert in.

Using a thumbtack or a poker that is smaller than the diameter of the prongs will make sure that the sensor installs with a tight seal and urine does not leak

  3. There is a blue spacer on the sensor is that optional. With the spacer, the prongs will sit higher up the urine level will be higher before the sensor starts to beep. With the spacer removed, the prongs will sit lower and the sensor will beep sooner.

  4. Keep things clean and the sensor will be a great option to know your Nomad urine level!
