If you're building out a tiny home, shed-to-suite conversion, backyard ADU, or off-grid retreat, setting up a full bathroom without plumbing or septic is entirely possible—and often smarter.
What's Included with the OGO™ ORIGIN
-
Fully assembled compost toilet with internal agitation and urine diversion
-
Removable urine bottle (approx. 2.4L capacity)
-
12V power cable and vent fan kit (with hose and wall fitting)
-
Internal wiring harness and motor
What You’ll Need to Add
Composting Medium
Use dry, untreated material like peat moss, coco coir, or a mix with pine shavings. Keep extra on hand for topping off the solids bin every 5–10 uses.
Ventilation Path
The included fan should vent directly outside. Wall or floor exits both work. Keep the hose run short and avoid sharp bends. Seal the vent exit to keep bugs and moisture out.
Power Supply
The ORIGIN uses about 0.5 amps for the continuously fan and 5 to 8 amps for the agitation cycle at 12VDC. You will want to have a 10 amp fuse. You can run it from:
-
A 12V battery system (solar or marine battery)
-
A standard 110V outlet using an AC/DC power adapter
-
An integrated DC line from your electrical panel
Include a fuse or breaker to protect the system.
Drain Kit: Ideal for Rentals or Shared Use
The standard OGO™ ORIGIN comes with a urine bottle, which needs to be emptied every 1–2 days per user. In personal setups, this is easy. But for Airbnb, tiny house rentals, or shared-use cabins, manual urine disposal can become a point of failure.
To solve this, the OGO™ Drain Kit replaces the bottle with a hose that routes urine directly to:
-
A sealed container or tank
-
A greywater tank or French drain (check local code)
This is a plug-and-play upgrade that reduces maintenance and improves long-term usability in high-traffic environments.
If you're outfitting a guest space, it's highly recommended.
Waste Management Schedule
Urine (Bottle):
Empty every 1–2 days depending on usage.
Disposal options: indoor toilet, greywater-safe drain, or via your local code-compliant method.
Urine (Drain Kit):
Empty your external container weekly or when full. depending on your set up you will have to maintain your tank to avoid build up or unpleasant odors.
Solids Bin:
Empty after approximately 25–30 uses.
Put mixture in a plastic bag to discard. We recommend using a compostable bag for clean disposal. Place the bag in trash or into a compost pile if permitted. Always follow local composting guidelines, in many areas a small maintained pile is perfectly acceptable.
Installation and Fit
The OGO™ ORIGIN has a compact footprint of approximately 15 x 20 inches.
Leave enough clearance:
-
Behind the unit for vent routing
-
In front for bin removal
-
Overhead to open the trap door
The unit can be floor-mounted for mobile or shifting structures, or freestanding in a static tiny house. You can also place in drawers, cabinets, roll-outs, and more.
Wholesale for Builders
If you're a professional builder outfitting multiple off-grid structures per year, OGO™ offers a wholesale builder account.
For partners installing six or more units annually, you qualify for preferred pricing and direct support.
This is ideal for companies specializing in:
-
Tiny home manufacturing
-
ADU construction
-
Glamping site development
-
Sustainable housing startups
