🚽 How to Use the OGO™ ORIGIN Compost Toilet System
Clean. Waterless. Easy.
Thanks for staying! This composting toilet is designed to be simple and low-maintenance—no plumbing, no smells, no worries. Just follow these quick steps.
💧 Step 1: Use Like a Normal Toilet
Yes, really. Sit comfortably and go as usual.
There’s no flush—instead, the OGO™ separates liquids and solids for odor-free composting.
🔄 Step 2: Let the Toilet Do the Work
-
Liquids go into a sealed urine bottle.
-
Solids drop into a separate chamber with coco coir (a natural compost medium).
-
After each solid use, press the gray button to activate mixing (just once!). This helps blend the waste with the compost medium.
💨 Step 3: Don’t Worry About Smells
A built-in fan keeps fresh air moving and vents any moisture or odor outside.
No sprays. No chemicals. Just clean air.
🚦 Step 4: Know When It’s Time to Empty
-
Urine bottle full? The red sensor light on the front will turn on.
-
Solids full? You’ll notice when the crank starts feeling stiff, or there’s no more room in the chamber.
🧼 Step 5: Easy Emptying
Ask your host if you're unsure—usually, they handle this! But if needed:
-
Urine bottle: Twist the cap, remove, and dump in a designated outdoor spot or toilet. Rinse with a bit of water and vinegar if needed.
-
Solids bin: Only emptied occasionally. Compost will look dry and earthy. Dispose of it where instructed.
🚫 Please Avoid These
-
No toilet paper in solids bin – Use a separate wastebasket or confirm with your host.
-
No wet wipes, sanitary products, or trash – These can damage the system.
-
No over-cranking – One press of the gray button is enough!
🌿 Thank You
By using this composting toilet, you’re helping save water and reduce waste—without sacrificing comfort. If you have any questions, just ask your host!
